GMD – Global Mindset Development
Stories shape the way we see the world. What happens when those stories become a game? GAME – Generating Awareness for Migrant Experiences is a project that brings together creativity, storytelling, and social impact to rethink how migration is understood and experienced.
Launched in March 2026, the project aims to bridge the gap between digital innovation and social inclusion.
The project is implemented by Global Mindset Development in collaboration with We Are Muesli, a game design studio based in Milan.
GAME – Generating Awareness for Migrant Experience is an Erasmus+ aimed at promoting new narratives about migration through a truly innovative approach — the co-creation of a video game.
At the heart of the project is the GAME Co-Creation Lab, a workshop in which young people aged 18–30 with a migration background, residing in Malta, will actively participate in shaping the narrative content of the game. The Lab will take place in November.
As part of this project, GMD has launched a community survey targeting young people aged 18–30 with a migration background living in Malta — including expats, migrants, refugees, asylum seekers, temporary protection holders, second generation, third culture kids, and children of mixed couples.
The survey collects information on their daily lives, challenges, sense of belonging, and identity — data that will feed into a public report on youth needs and the Maltese migration context, as well as the co-creation of “In Their Shoes – Malta”, a videogame that will translate real-life inspired stories into an interactive experience promoting new narratives on migration.
You can also support the project, in two ways:
