What is project Unlock?

Project Unlock is an Erasmus+ project coordinated by the Malta Employers’ Association, in partnership with Cross Cultural International Foundation (CCIF Malta) and Check-In Association (Portugal).
Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) face significant challenges in accessing funding opportunities, often due to lack of awareness, limited capacity to prepare applications, and insufficient human resources. To address these issues, our project establishes dedicated EU Helpdesks within partnering organizations in Malta and Portugal, aimed at guiding our business members towards available funding opportunities available to them. Our Solution: The EU Helpdesk Service at Malta Employers

An EU Helpdesk functions as a comprehensive one-stop-shop for information, guidance, and support in relation to funding. Its primary role is to simplify access to the often complex landscape of EU and national funding opportunities by providing clear, reliable, and up-to-date information.
  • Centralized Support: A dedicated Helpdesk provides tailored assistance, capacity-building, and information to members of MEA, CCIF, and Check-in.
  • Training & Capacity Building: Throughout the year the Helpdesk organises information sessions informing on funding opportunities, as well as and training sessions on project development and application writing.
  • Information & Outreach: Regular webinars, information sessions, and personalized meetings will inform members about funding opportunities, prerequisites, and application processes.

Project Goals:

  • Launch and promote the Helpdesk in Malta and Portugal.
  • Identify members’ needs through surveys.
  • Develop comprehensive procedures for Helpdesk operations.
  • Foster partnerships and expand outreach to NGOs and social partners across Europe.
  • Share lessons learned as a model for broader adoption.

Who Benefits?

The EU Helpdesk at Malta Employers is freely available to all MEA and CCIF. By way of a bi-lateral agreement signed between Malta Employers Association and CCIF, employers, business owners or registered self-employed individuals registered as members with CCIF will have free access to the services at the EU Helpdesk at Malta Employers.
